Our Savants have been studying the manuscript that you brought back and have determined how the savages have gained control over the local bears. It seems they have captured one of their eldest bears and have been manipulating its scent to give “signals” to the other bears in the area. It's quite a risky experiment but so far it seems to be working enough to cause us problems.
